LAWRENCE TOEWS

Lawrence Toews of Clearbrook, B.C., was born in 1935 in Manitoba. His father was an invalid but his life was an inspiration to Larry, as well as the courageous example of his mother.

In 1953 Larry became a member of the Rudnerweider Mennonite Church of Altona after he accepted Christ as his Lord and Saviour. He was married to Eleanor Frers in 1958. Since then he followed his calling as teacher, and was in his 17th year of teaching, 8 of them in the Abbotsford district. He was active in the Christian Service Brigade in the Central Heights MB Church, where they are members, and also took a keen interest in the Abbotsford Flying Club. He died in an aeroplane accident on February 3 at the age of 37 years.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, two daughters, one son, his mother, three brothers, and three sisters, all of Manitoba.
