DAVID DOERKSEN

David Doerksen was born in 1899 in Butterfield, Minnesota and died on Nov. 29 at the age of 73. His family had moved to Mennon, Sask., in 1901, where they homesteaded. He accepted Christ in his 27th year and was baptized the same year. In 1928 he married the former Martha Kliewer, and he continued farming until 1958 when he contracted Parkinson's disease, from which he suffered till his death.

His cheerfulness and practical Christian living was a strength and encouragement to the family, as well as the participation in music activities.

He is survived by his wife, Martha; Leona of Saskatoon, Erwin and Sharon Doerksen of Moose Jaw, Sam and Ethel Quiring of Dalmeny, Del and Lillian Doerksen of Whitehorse, Yukon and their respective families. Funeral services were held in the Hepburn M B Church.
