DAVID HENRY REDEKOPP

David Henry Redekopp, son o'f Heinrich and Helena Redekopp was born Febru·ary 25 1886 ·in South Russia where he a·lso sp'ent his boyhood days. In 1903, he tog'ether w ith his parents, seven sisters, two br'others came to Canada,settl·ing in the AiJtona , Mani·toba distr·ict, and later moved to Winkler. He was haptized and received 'into the M .B. Chur·ch at the age of 19. On December 19, 1912, he entere·d ·into marriag e with Elizabeth (Epp, Wi ebe) Toews . This union was blessed wi ~h s'ix sons . Th ey moved to ,the Kelstern d·istrict w here t hey fa rmed unt-il retirement. Mr. Redekop p was very active in Sunda y sohool and oth er chur'ch activities. In 1942 ,they retired to Herbert, Sask., where his wi feE,lizabeth predecease·d him in 1961 . In May o'f 1966, he entered ,the ,Herbert Sen'iar ·Citizens·home where he enjoyed the fellowship of other Christ'ians. He passed a'way sudd enly on August 15, at the a-ge o·f 86 years . Rev. Bill Thie'ssen, ass-isted by Mr. Henry Voth , o~fiC'i ated at the funera'i service. He is survived by his sons and grandchildren; 1 brot her Die'drich of Ohi+liwack, B.C.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Frank Brown and Mrs. Barbara N'ickel o-f Herbert Sask .
