EARLY-DAY SETTLER IN KANSAS AND OKLAHOMA CALLED BY DEATH

Meno, Okla. — Funeral services were conducted July 31 at the New Hopedale Mennonite Church for Peter S. Kane, early day settler in Kansas and Oklahoma. He died at a convalescent home in Fairview on July 28, two days before his 88th birthday.

Mr. Kane was born in Polish Russia and came to America with his parents in 1874. The family settled in Lonetree Township, McPherson County, Kan. in 1875. In 1894 he moved to a farm near Ringwood, Okla. and later farmed near Meno.

The funeral services were in charge of Rev. Ben J. Nickel, assisted by Rev. Reuben Koehn and Rev. A. C. Siebert.
