JOHN KORNELIUS BRANDT

illage of Wasilovka, South Russia. In 1903 he came to Canada with his parents and after a brief stay in Gretna, Man., settled in He~bert, Sask. Later he took up his own homestead there. In 1907 he rea'lized his lost condition and the Lord in His mercy saved him. That spring he was baptized and received into the fellowship of the MB Church at Lichtfeld, where he became an active membe'r in the choir and in the Sunday school. He received his educat'ion at the MCI, Gretna, Herbert High School, and teacher's J,WV'·training in Saskatoon, aft-er which he p' '7' began his teaching career. He was ~~' married in 1919 to Anna Thiessen. After " teaching in various schools in Saskatchewan he moved to B.C. in 1947 and senled on a dairy farm in Easr - Chilliwack. In !~ he moved to Clearbrook. During his ea'rlier years in B.C. he taught in the East Chilliwack and Abbo,tsford Bible Schools. All through the years his work with choirs and Sunday school teaching were sources of rich blessing for him. He loved the fellowhip of believers and remained active in many facets of church work until recently. In 1968 they were able ,to celebra'te their golden wedding anniversary with all children present. He became ill last fall and suffereo considerably. Nevertheless, he bel·ieved it was a way of bringing honour and glory to God, because He had suffered much for us and gave us life through His death He di ed on August 27, a few days short of his 81 st birthday. He leaves t o mourn his wife, seven sons, four daughters, 39 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one older brother, Fun era l services were held in ,the Cl earb rook MB Church with Rev. Herman Lenzmann officiating.
