SARA ENNS

Sara Enns was born in 1885 in Alexanderthal, South Russia and passed a:way in Clearbrook :B.C., on July 22 ,in her 87th y.ear. He'r parents were among th'e members fram the Flirstenland Mennonite Church whO' were influenced by th e spiritual awakening which was spreading over the Mennanite settlemettns 'in R'Ussia, and they joined the Mennonite Brethren church. He,rfather became the 'leading minister of the MB Church in Olgafeld in 1902 and rema'ined a leader until his em igra,l'ion to Canada in 1926. Sara's mother passe,d away when Sara was 15 years old, but her 'fa.!her r·e·-. married, and she became the olde'st olf 8 children . She accepted Christ as her Savic'Uf and ja,ined the MB church ,in 1911. In her yauth she suffere.d from an illness which left her mentai'ly handicappe,d for the rema:ining years o~ her Hie. In Canada ,she lived with her parenlts first in W'inkler, th·en in Drake, S,ask., after her father died, then 'in Steinba1 ch and ChHhwack, and spending the last eleven years 'Of her life in the IMenno Invallid Home. ' Funeral services were he,ld lin the Broadway M.B Church, ChiHiwack, on July 28, with Pastor Henry Warkentin c'f,fi'C'iating . Theexpression o·f love shown by the church and the Waodlawn Funera,1 Home are de1eply appreciiated by the relati,ves. Le:ft tv mourn are tlWO brothers, one sister, a slister-'in-Iaw 'as welH as many nieces and nephews.
