MARGARETA UNGER

Margareta Unger, beloved wHe of Peter P. Unger of Yarrow, B.C. was born S'eptemiber 15, 1895 in Southern Russ'ia. She was the 8th o,f 18 chi'ldren born to' John and He'I'en Funk. Her gcdly parents taught her the 'e'lements of the Christi'an faith. At the a'ge of 16 Margareta accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviiour. Shortly :ther'eaf,ter she publicly con~essed Jesus Christ as her Lord by cansenting to water baptism at whi·ch time she was 'a'iso r,e'ceived intv membe'rship in the MiloradO'fka M.B. Church . In 1922 she gave her marria{le vow to P'eter Unglef. After 3 ye'ars 'of ma,rried life ,in traublesome Russ'ia and with rh'e sad experience in the lass olf the'ir first son, Peter and Margareta Ung:er came to Canada and seHle,d in Pravost, Alberta. In this community olf the,ir earthly sojourn 7 sons were born to them. In 1937 the family mov'ed to Athabasca, A'lbe~ta . Recognizing the nee'd for Christian fellowship the family moved ance again, thi's tlime ~o British Co,lumib'ia and s'et:t'led near Yarrow in 1'940. In 1946, Margareta was hospi!:a'lized with a s'erious kidney problem. An aperation proved s'U'cce,ssful and she was able to returoto her fami'ly. Bu~ the kidney problem r'ecurred periodically. This spring 'it please'd our heavenly Father t'o call her to' her he'ave:n'ly hame, She entered her etema,1 reward on June 21, 1972 at the age o'f 76. She ,is surviv,ed by her husband, Pelter Ung'er; seven sons, John. p.ete, Phil'ip, Menno, Ben, Paul, Walter; and their wives; 25 grandchildren, and many fri,ends and relatives.
