PETER J. PLETT

Peter J. Plett was born in 1900 at Kail'tO'n, Samara, ,in Russ'ia, and died in Coalda'ie on May 27, at the age of 71. He w as saved a't the age of 15 and committed his life to Jesus Christ. Later he was baptized and joined the Mennonite Brethren Churdh, where he sought to glorify his Lord unt·il the end. He was married to Sa,ra Wiebe in 1920, Whiclh union was hlessed wi1!h 5 s'ons and 7 daughters , In 1929 the family moved to Manito'ba, where he farmed unt'il 1937 and then mO'ved to Gem, where they res'rdeduntil 1966, at which time tlhey moved to Coa,ldale. Fune·ral services were conduoted in ,th.e Coal·dale MiB Church on May 31. He is surV'ived by his wife Sara and five sons: Pete, Cornie, Jake, George, and Henry; seven daughters: Mrs. Sarah Leduc, Mrs. Susie Thiessen, Mrs . Mary Th'iessen, Mrs. Anne Willms, Mrs. T.ina S'iemens , Mrs. Olga Goossen, and Mrs. Martha Penner, as weH as 30 g'randchildren, a brother, and a hos'! o·f relat,ives and friends. He wi'I'1 be remembered by his ·Ioved ones for his prayers on their 'behal'f and for his slincere deslire to see hlis ent'ire fami'ly walk in the ways o·f the Lord. l'hey will miss h im, bUlt not as those who mourn wi ~hout hope, for they know thalt he 'is with his Sa·V'iour, whom he loved dearly.
