PIONEER SETTLER OF HILLSBORO COMMUNITY DIED AT AGE 83

Hillsboro, Kans. — Mrs. Andrew Schroeder, pioneer settler in the Lighthouse district northeast of Hillsboro in 1879, passed away here on May 1 at the age of 83. Funeral services were conducted at the First Mennonite church on May 4.

She is survived by her husband, Andrew Schroeder, whom she married more than 62 years ago, and six children: Mrs. Leonard Bartel, Mrs. Harrison Unruh, and Peter Schroeder, all of Hillsboro; Paul of Long Beach, Calif.; Dan of Colby, Kans.; and Arthur of Wichita.

Mrs. Schroeder was born in Poland on Jan. 12, 1869, and came to this country with her parents at 1he age of 10.
