Sara Toews was born Ootober 12, 1888 in Franzt-al, Molots-chna, in southern Russia , to He'inrrch and Tina (nee Buller) Voth . She was the ninth of eleven children, five sisters and five brot,hers. Her family moved to Orenburg wh en she was eight years old. Ten years later she moved back to Franzta'i to live with an uncle, Johann Voth . She was baptiz ed upon her confession of faith 'in 1907 at the age of 19, in Alexanderthal, and jo,ined the Mennonite Brethren Church. In 1'110. I't the age of 22, she cam e to Orloff where she met and married W'ilhelm Toews in 1912. They lived in OrioH un'til 1926 when they emi.grated to Can-ada. She lived in Leamington, Ontario until helf death on Ma ~ch 14. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Peter J. (Betty) Dick, of Leamington; two sons, William of Windsor and Ernest o'f Peterborough; six grandohildren and five great grandchildren. She had reached an age of 83 years.
