MRS. JOHN R. WIEBE

Sarah Wiebe was the ninth of 13 children of Heinrich and Elizabeth Rempel of Pluoff, of the Ukraine, and was born on September 24, 1897. In 1902 the family emigrated to Canada, arriving at Morden, Manitoba in December. The following year they settled on a farm near Burwalde. As a child Sarah attended school at Zion and Burwalde, together with her brothers and sisters. In 1918 she moved with her parents to Winkler where she worked as a clerk for the Kroeker Brothers until her marriage. At an early age she had come to realize her need for a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Baptism upon her confession of faith and acceptance into the Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church followed at the age of 14.

She was united in marriage to John R. Wiebe on March 29, 1923. They settled on a farm, four miles north of Morden, where they lived for 37 years. They had one daughter, Dorothy. After her husband's health began to fail, they retired and moved to Morden. Four years laer, in 1964, her husband went to be with the Lord, and on September 28, 1971, she followed him. She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers and nine sisters.

Left to mourn her loss are her daughter, Dorothy, and husband Edmond Dyck, and grandchildren, Judith and John, and a host of friends and relatives.
