— Funeral services were conducted at the Walton Mennonite Church on Wednesday afternoon for Henry John Hiebert, 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry S. Hiebert, who suffered an accidental gunshot wound on Thanksgiving Day. The youth had gone hunting at the Hiebert home near Walton and was in the yard showing his father a squirrel he had shot when the .22 calibre rifle went off as he set it down. The bullet struck a tooth and lodged in the head. The unconscious young man was taken to the Bethesda Hospital in Goessel and then to the Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton, where doctors performed surgery in an unsuccessful effort to save his life. He passed away Sunday evening. Surviving are the parents and four sisters of the home, and the grandparents, Jacob Hiebert of Walton and Mr. and Mrs. John F. Schmidt of Goessel. The family formerly lived in the Goessel community, and burial was made in the Goessel church cemetery.
