Elizabeth Rempel was barn on December 7, 1893 to' Peter and M ar·ia Hildebrand of Steinfeild, sauthern Russ ia. There s,he attended the villag e s'chool for five years and th ere she also grew up. When she was 19 she accepted Jesus Christ asher Lord and Saviaur, and in the same year, 1913, wasooptized tOgBther-,with three-,oL her sis.ters and received int O' the Mennanite Brethren church. On June 6, 1917 she was married to Henry Rempel. They continued to' live in Steinfe,ld for seven further yeHrs, during which time faur children were born to them. In 1924 th ey left Russia for CanHda, arriving in Main Centre, Sask., on Septemb er 30 of that year. After five months, however, they moved to Osborne, Manitaba, where they bought a farm and eventually lived for 32 yeHrs. Here the Lord gave th em seven more children. In 1957 1)hey retired from the farm and moved to' Winnipeg. They joined the Elmwood Mennonite Brethren Church ,in the city. She enjoyed the fellowship of the church very much a·nd cultiva1e'd a very intimate relationship w ith the Lord. She prayed much for her children and grandchildren . She was prede'cease'd by a daughter, Anna (Mrs. Peter) Penner, and a son, Henry. Surviving her are her husband, Henry; fourdaughte·rs, Beth (Mrs . Jake) Enns, of Oakbluff, MHn., Mary (Mrs. Jake) Klippenstein of Vancouver, E,laine (Mrs. Herb) Penner of Winnipeg and Sara (Mrs. 'Gordon) Heed of K'ingston; five sons, Peter of Winnipeg, Ne,il af B'eloit, 'Wisconsi·n, John, oBiB and Herman of Osborne; 41 grandchildren, one ,gre-at grandchild; a sister, (Mrs.) Anne Dyck of Steinbach, Man., and a brather, Henry Hildebrand, o,f Caronport, Sask.
