MARGARET QUAPP

Mrs. Margaret Quapp was born in 1897 in Buragan, Crimea, Russia. Her father, Peter Klassen, was the local school teacher. Later the family moved to Spat. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour when she was 12, and was baptized and received into the MB Church at the age of 18. Throughout her whole life, her greatest concern was to bring honour to God and to be a help to those near her. In 1920 she was married to Peter Quapp from Lichtenau, Molotschna. Three children were born to them in Russia, but one died in infancy. In 1925 they came to Canada and settled in Coaldale, Alta. Here the Lord blessed them with eight more children. In December 1942 the Lord called her husband home, and four years later two of her children, Edgar, 18, and Agnes, 9, were laid to rest. But Mrs. Quapp clung to the promises of the Lord who said, "1 will not leave thee nor forsake thee, I thy God will go with thee." On August 4, the Lord called her home. She leaves to mourn two daughters: Mrs. (Irma) John Kroeker of Coal·dale and Mrs. (Elfriede) Ben Wiebe of Taber, Alta.; six sons: Bill of Coaldale, Ernest of Grand Prairie, Alta., Carl of 'Calgary, David of Edmonton, Arthur of Lethbridge, Alta. and John of Coaldale; and 21 grandchildren.
