EVELYN MARTHA DICK

(Mrs.) Evelyn Martha Dick was born on August 7, 1942, in Coaldale, Alta., to Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Neufeld. In 1945 the family moved to Chilliwack, B.C . where Evelyn spent her childhood and teen years. As a young girl she committed her life to the Lord. She was baptized and received into the East Chilliwack Church in 1958, where she served as church pianist for some years.

Evelyn received her high school training at the Mennonite Educational Institute in Clearbrook, B.C., and graduated from the Mennonite Brethren Bible Institute in 1963. After a year of teacher's training at UBC, she taught at Williams Lake one year and then at Riverdale Elementary in Surrey, B.C., until her untimely illness in November 1969.

On July 16, 1965, she married Peter Dick and established a lovely Christian home in Surrey, B.C. She was actively involved in her church, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School. All through her lengthy illness she inspired many through her positive witness and unfailing trust in God, daily living out Proverbs 3:5-6: " Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

Evelyn peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, May 23. She was predeceased by her mother and a brother. She is survived by her loving husband, Peter, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Neufeld of Chilliwack, one brother, Harvey, and two sisters, Carol and Loretta.
