PIONEER SETTLER OF HILLSBORO COMMUNITY CALLED BY DEATH
Hillsboro, Kan. — Peter F. Suderman, pioneer settler and long time resident of the Hillsboro community, died at Salem hospital July 6 at the age of 82. Funeral services were held July 9 at the Brudertal church.
Coming from South Russia to Peabody, Kan. as an orphan boy in 1877, he grew to manhood in the home of his great uncle, Wilhelm Nickel. He farmed for a number of years and also served in various capacities in the Brudertal congregation.
Surviving are his wife, Maria; four children, Rev. John P. Suderman of Pandora, Ohio, Karl and Ernest Suderman and Mrs. Waldo Nickel of Hillsboro; and three grandchildren.
