— Funeral services for Mrs. Jacob J. Schmidt, 74, who passed away June 2 at the Bethesda hospital in Goessel, were held Sunday afternoon at the Alexanderwohl church. Rev. P. A. Wedel officiated, assisted by Rev. H. B. Schmidt. Mrs. Schmidt, the former Lizzie Enns, has been a member of the Alexanderwohl church since 1897. She is survived by three sons, Menno E. of Newton, Jacob W. of Goessel and Elmer W. of Canton; one daughter, Mrs. Ben F. Voth of rural Newton; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Jacob J. Enns, and one sister, Mrs. Marie Unruh, of Goessel.

MRS. LIZZIE SCHMIDT
Mrs. Lizzie Enns Schmidt was born on Nov. 28, 1880, in Marion County, Kansas. She was the youngest daughter of the children of Jacob Enns and Maria Sommerfield Enns. She attended elementary school at Maple Hill in Marion county.
On June 6, 1897, she was baptized by Rev. Peter Balzer and accepted into the Alexanderwohl Mennonite church of which she remained a faithful member, although she was unable to attend services the past year because of ill health.
On Oct. 16, 1898, she was married to Jacob J. Schmidt. After their marriage they lived on a farm in McPherson county.
