JACOB MUELLER

Jacob Mueller of Herbert, Sask., was born near Nikopol, southern Russia, on October 31, 1881. In 1902 he moved to Elbing, Germany, where he resided until moving to Kelstern, Sask., in 1907. Here he took up a homestead and in 1913 was married to Tina Neufeld. He lived at Kelstern until retiring to Herbert in 1947. Early in his youth he came to faith in Jesus Christ and was united with the membership of the Mennonite Brethren church. His love for the Word of God was expressed in a teaching ministry that was uninterrupted until failing health forced him to discontinue. He passed to his eternal reward on March 3. The funeral was held in the Mennonite Brethren church at Herbert on March 6 with Rev. Herman Voth officiating. He was predeceased by his wife Tina and a son-in-law, Rev. Ernest Hahn. He leaves to mourn his passing eight children: Marie and Louise, Milk River, Alta., Hans, Kelstern; Mrs. David (Olga) England and Mrs. Don (Tillie) Erickson, Midale, Sask.; Willy and Ernest, Edmonton; Paul, Newton, Conn.; two sisters, Mrs. G.J. Siemens, Shafter, Calif.; and Tina Mueller, Kelowna, B.C.; 13 grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.
