— Martin Thimm, a native of Marienthal, Germany and resident of the Newton community for 73 years, passed away Monday evening at the Bethel Deaconess hospital at the age of 86. Funeral services are to take place Friday at 2:30 p. m. at the Bethel College Mennonite church, with Rev. Harold Buller and Dr. J. H. Langenwalter in charge. Mr. Thimm was employed as a carman on the Sante Fe railroad until his retirement in 1931. He leaves his wife, the former Katherine Unruh, four daughters, three sons, 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
