ANNA WITTENBERG
(Mrs.) Anna Wittenberg was born on December 12, 1a95 at Ischakmack, Crimea , Russia, to David and Susanna NachtigaL She received Jesus as her personal Saviour, was baptized and became a member of the Mennoni,te Brethren Church, In 1925 she left Russia and moved to Canada. At first she resided in Sas,katchewan, then in Crowfoot, Alta., and was united in marriag-e on August 29, 1926 with 'Isaac Wittenberg, a widower with six ch'ildren.God blessed their marriage with additional children of whom only Helen,Mrs. Krzeczkowski, is 'alive today. In 1937 1:he Wittenbergs moved to Tofield, Alta ., and in 1949 to St. Ann's, Onto In 1962 they retired 1:0 Vineland where she resided the rema'ining years. She served conscientious·ly wherever she had opportunity. On December 9, three days before her 75th birthdav, she went to her heavenly h-ome. Mr. Wittenberg died in 1963. She leaves to mourn: Mary (Mrs. K. Siemens) of Calgary, Alta .; Isaac of Tofield; Susie (Mrs. Henry Penner), Coaldale; EI-izabeth (Mrs . John Rutschka) of GaJgary; Abram of Tofield; Comel,ius of St. Catharines; and He'len (Mrs. Krzeczkowski), also of St. Catharines; 26 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; one brother, John Nachtigal -of Calgary, and one sister, Justina Wiens -of Paraguay. The 'funeral was conducted from the Vineland Mennonite Brethren Church on December 11 with the pastor, Jacob Neufeld, and Rev. H.P. Wiebe miniMering.
