KATHERINE ISAAC

(Mrs.) Kathenine Isaac of 275 Dona:lda Ave., Winnipeg, passed away September 13, nearly five weeks after suffering s-evere burns 'in an accident at home. She was born in Olgafeld, South Russia on March 21, 1902, the fifth of 12 children of Jacob and Helena Niebuhr. Through the :influence of godly parents she came to a- knowledge of Jesus Chri'st as Savliour and Lord and 'in time she was bapt!ized and ente-red into the fellowship of the Mennonite Brethren Church in Oigafeld. In 1921 she married p.eter Lepp. A son, Peter, was born to them, but at 11 month,s her child died in the typhoid epidemic. "fwo months la:ter her griefwas increased when her husband al<so died of t,he same disease. They had been married two years. In 1926 she came to Canada, to Winnipeg, and -for a number of years worked in various homes as a domestk. In 1932 she married Henry Isaac. Two s-ons, Ernest and Arthur, were Iborn to them. "fhe fami-Iy -Nved in the north end for a number of years and in 1946 moved to East Kildonan. In 1961 her husband passed away and for the rema-in'ing yea-rs of her !-ife she ,ioived al'one. She was oa'Medhome to be with the Lord on September 13 after grea't suffering. The funeral was held on September 16 ,in the Elmwo'od (Winniipeg) Church wli'th Wi'll:iam Schm~dt and John B. Epp speaking messages of encouragement and 'comfo-rt. She is mo'urned by two sons, Ernest, and his wife :Esther, and theior three daughters, and Arthur, hi-s wife Gretta, and thei'r two s'ons; five si'sters, (Mrs.) Helena Doerksen, Herbem Sask.. (Mrs.) Margaret Dyck, (Mrs.) Maria Redekopp, and (Mrs.) Elizabeth Klassen, aill o-f VirgH, Ont., and (Mrs.) Anna K'iassen of Russ,ia; as weH -a-s a number of nieces, nephews and f-riends and neighbours.
