SKATING MISHAP RESULTS IN DEATH OF 10-YEAR-OLD BOY

Steinbach, Manitoba. — Corny Krahn, 10, youngest of 11 children of Mr. and Mrs. George Krahn, was fatally injured Saturday night, Jan. 19, while skating on the Niverville rink.

R. C. M. police said other youngsters skating ahead of Corny fell over a board separating two sheets of ice, and the skate of one of them flew up and hit the victim on the temple. The injury did not appear to be serious. He went home, but later complained of pain in his head. The doctor was called, and he was rushed to the hospital, where he died at 3:45 a. m. Sunday.
