EARL LESLIE HARRIS
Earl Les,I'ie Harris, 17, of 6640 Kempson Crescent, Del,ta" B.C., was caHed home to be with the Lord on May 2, 1970. Earl wa's born 'On January 24, 1953 to Mr. and Mrs. Hal Hanris, in t,heli;t,tle town O'f St. Avoid ,in France, where Mr. Harris was serving in the A'if Force. In 1'954 he moved wivh h,is family to New B'r-unswick and three years later to B.C. where the fami,ly rema,ined unt,i,1his dea'th . When he was ten, 'he made his decis'ien to 'accept Jesus Christ as his persona'i Saviour, and at 11, at his own request, was Ibaptizedin the South De,lta Baptist Church. On Easter Sunday (March 29) of this year, Earl, his sister Unda and his parents were accepted 'into the fe'I'lowship 'Of the Kennedy Heights MB Church by transferra'" and his bro1:her Gary and sister Judy, by ba'Ptlism. Together wi~'h <his family ,he had worshipped ,in this churoh fo'ra year and was 'loved by a" who knew him. Earl was an outstanding student, excelling in everything from math ,to footbal'l to music. Most 'important of a'I,I, he loved the Lord and was deeply concerned abo ut be'inga witness to his f~iends . Hi's death ha's touched the hearts of hundreds of teena'gers 'as weH as adults. His parents accept his passing as of the Lord and are 'convinced that God had a speoial purpose in 't'aking Earl, and a,re grateful to God for the 17 years of happ!ine'ss they were able to sha're with the'ir son. Ea,rlleave's to mourn (but not as those without hope) his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hal Harris; one brother, Gary; two sisters, Linda and Judy; his ,grand-mo,thers, Mrs. Lena Har~is and Mrs. Louise PoHock, both of V'i:cto'ri'a; hi,s great-grandmother, Mrs. Mina Pollock, ,also of V'iotoria; and many friends 'and rel'at,ives. A memor,ia'i servi'ce was conducted by Rev. Rudy Janzen at the Kennedy He'ights MB Church, Delta" B.C. Bibles were donatedin Earl's memory to the Gideons.
