MRS. TENA LOEWEN

Tena Lo-ewen (nee Friesen) was born to Gerhard and Agatha Fries'8n on April 22, 1905 at Cope, Colorado. In 1907 the Friesen family' moved to Munich, N.D. where Tena grew up and had her school,ing. In 1919 the Friesenfami'ly movedtoa farm near Hepburn, Sask. She accepted Ohrist as her personal Sav,iour during evange'listic meet'ings conduc'ted by C.N. Hiebert when slhe was 19 years of age. On September 7, 1924 she joined ,the Hepburn Mennonite Brethren Church through baptism and remained a fa'ithfu,1 member unltH her death. On November 26, 1933 she was joined in maniage to Phil'ip Loewen with whom she was abl'e to share over 36 years. For 28 years they farmed west of Hepburn and in 1961 they moved into the village, She first became HI of cancer in 1964 and thou9h she had several opera'tions and many treatments, she eventlJ'a'I'ly succumbed to the disease on September 28, 1969. She reached the age of 64. She leaves to mourn, her beloved husband, Phi ,l,ip; two sons, Edmund and his wife Loretta, and John and his wife Daphne; six grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers and many other friends and relatives.
