Obituary—Eldon Lewis Hazzard

Eldon Lewis Hazzard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy E. Hazzard, was born November 28, 1927 at Axtell Christian hospital, Newton, and departed this life at Newton, on May 20, 1946, at the age of 18 years, five months and 22 days.

Eldon's entire life was spent in Newton, he attended Roosevelt and Washington schools and had just completed his junior year at senior high. He was a regular attendant of Sunday school and church, the family being members of the Congregational church.

Eldon, was gracious and friendly and a lovely personality which had won him many friends. He leaves his father and mother and one brother of the home.

His paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Hazzard of Iola, Kansas, his maternal grandmother Mrs. Wm. Dingman of Iola, besides uncles, aunts and cousins and many friends.

Funeral services were held at the Moody Funeral Chapel, Thursday morning at 10:00 o'clock, May 23, with Rev. Irving C. Faust in charge. Mrs. W. M. Okerberg, sang "My God and I," and "God Understands," and was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Chas. Bachmann. Interment was made in the family lot in the Iola cemetery, Iola, Kansas, at 4:00 p. m. Thursday afternoon, by Conrad P. Hinitt of the Moody Funeral Home.
