FRANK F. HEIER

Frank F. Heier of Steinbach, Manitoba passed away on March 10 at the age of 73.

He was born on May 13, 1895 to Franz and Anna (nee Bergen) Heier at Kamenetz, Russia. At the age of 15 he accepted the Lord as his own personal Saviour and was baptized and received into the Mennonite Brethren Ohurch. In June, 1924, he was married to Anna Harms. In 1926 they emigrated to Canada and settled in the south-eastern part of Manitoba. And in 1938 they moved a farm near Steinbach, Manitoba, which he operated till the time of his death.

He enjoyed relatively good health until three years ago, after which he still carried on farming although in a limited way. He was admitted into the hospital for the last time on March 3.

Funeral services were held in the Steinbach Mennonite Brethren Church on March 13 with Rev. John Reimer and Rev. Henry Regehr ministering. He is survived by his wife; five sons, Henry of 100 Mile House, B.C.; Frank of Yarrow, B.C.; John of St. Catharines, Ont.; Peter of Alliston, Ont.; Arthur of Steinbach; four daughters, Anne (Mrs. N. Penner) of Headingly, Man.; Frieda (Mrs. M. Duerksen) and Ema, both of Steinbach; and Laura of Vineland, Ont.; four daughters-in-law; two sons-in-law; 17 grandchildren;and one sister.
