MARY J. WIEBE

(Mrs.) Mary J. Wiebe of Winkler, Man., passed away on April 6. She was born in Altonau, South Russia on November 9, 1883 and as a young girl, in 1903, moved to Canada with her parents. She attended Tabor College for a year to learn the Engl'ish and on March 14, 1915 she was married at Goessel. Kansas, to Jacob J. W'iebe. She studied nursing at Goessel and hecame a registered nurse. When they later established a farm near Winkler, she dedicated her services to the sick in her neighbourhood. Her husband passed away in 1951 '8Ild since 1956 she had been a resident of the Winkler Salem Home for the Aged. The funeral was held in the WinkleT Church on April 12 with pastor John M. Schmidt ministering. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Annie) Penner and Mrs. John P. (Mary) Dyck, and a son, Jake, all of Winkler; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
