ARTHUR M. UNRUH

Arthur M. Unruh, 49, passed away suddenly on August 23 as 1Jhe result of a boating accident on Paradise Lake near Merritt, B.C. His home was in North Surrey, B.C.

Arthur Unruh was the son of M'artin and Susannah Unruh and was born in the Russian Crimea. As a boy of six he came to Canada with his parents. He was married to Mathilda Ratzlaff in Saskatchewan in 1943 and moved to British Columbia immediat~ly there~ after.

For nearly 24 years he was employed with the Swift Canadian Co. and especially in the last few years much of his time was devoted to the betterment of the working conditions of the people with whom he was associated in the United Packinghouse Workers 0 { America. He was a devoted Christian who had accepted Christ as Lord and Saviour and the way of eternal peace. Together with his wife, he belonged to the North Surrey Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Rodney, at home; two daughters, Mrs. D. (Carolyn) Wilson, North Bend, B.C., and Mrs. B. (Wendolyn) Neufeldt, New Westminster; parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.K. Unruh of Clearbrook, B.C.; 'three brothers, George of Langley, B.C., Nick of Vancouver and Dr. Waldemar of Oalgary; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Ketler of Abbotsford and Mrs. Jack (Agnes) Ratzlaff of West Summerland, B.C.
