HEINRICH H. GOOSSEN

take to himself Rev. Heinrich H. Goossen, who had attained the age of 88 years. He was a longtime minister of the Mennonite Brethren Church. The funeral took place on July 1 in the Yarrow (B.C.) Church of which he was a member. He was born on June 15, 1880 in South Russia. He accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptised on July 15, 1902, into the Mennonite Brethren Church. The next year he bcgan his preaching ministry. For ten years he taught school in Orloff and for two years in Elisabethtal. He served for 30 years as choir conductor. On May 25, 1905, he was married to Katharina Koop. One daughter and three sons blessed their union, and also two orphan children, whom they adopted. On May 14, 1924, they emigrated to Mexico and two years later to Canada. Th~y lived until 1950 near Manitou, Manitoba, and in that year his wife passed away. After moving to Yarrow, he married a former student from Russia, Elizabeth Martens of Kitchener, Ontario. They lived together for 17 years, until he passed away on June 25 after a period of illness. He leaves to mourn, his wife; daughters, Martha and Mika (Mrs. C. Fast); and sons, Henry, John and Jacob. John Goossen is the principal of the Winkler Bible Institute.
