● Gustav E. Luehr, 59, who came here from Germany in the mid-1950s, died Nov. 26 at Elk rove Village, Ill., having become ill while visiting relatives in that area. A native of Germany, he was married there to Thea Busch in 1935. He had been employed as an auto mechanic at Emporia. Surviving in addition to his widow are a son, Mike H. of Streamwood, Ill.; one daughter, Marlies P. Luehr of Elmwood Park, Ill.; one brother, Arthur, in Germany, and two grandchildren. Mr. Luehr was a member of the Newton First Mennonite Church where the funeral was conducted Tuesday afternoon, with Dr. Albert H. Epp in charge.
