FRIEDRICH DIRKS

Friedrich Dirks was born on March 3, 1898 in Marion, South Dakota. In 1903 his family moved to Waldheim, Sask. He accepted Christ as his Saviour and followed him in baptism on August 20,1916, and became a member of the EMB church. In September of 1921 he joined the MB Church at Dalmeny, Sask.

Here he was married to Agatha Janzen on October 16, 1921. They moved to British Columbia in 1947 and settled in Chilliwack the following year. He loved his Lord and greatly enjoyed reading the Bible. He passed away suddenly on the morning of May 16. He is predeceased by a son, Peter.

Left to mourn his passing are four daughters, Verna Voth, Annie Voth, Mary Peters of Hepburn, Sask., and Agnes Koop of Chilliwack, B.C.; a son, Edwin of New Westminster, B.C.; eleven grandchildren; three brothers, George of Kelowna, B.C., David of California, Abe of Dalmeny, Sask.; a sister, Agnes (Mrs. John Loewen) of Chilliwack.

His comfort was in John 14:1,2 where the Lord himself says, "Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms, if it were not so, would I have told you I go to prepare a place for you?"
