AGED KING OF SWEDEN DIED LAST WEEK

Sweden’s 92 year old King Gustaf V died at Drottningholm palace in Stockholm last week from bronchial catarrh and complications of old age.

His reign was one of the longest and most successful of any monarch in European history. He steered his country in neutrality through two world wars and saw its economy developed to a good balance between extreme capitalism and extreme socialism. The whole nation paused in tribute as funeral services were held in the famous Riddarholm church.

The new king is Gustav’s [sic] 67 year old son, Gustaf Adolf VI, who in reality was acting head of Sweden during the monarchs yeas of frailty and last illness.
