MARIA BERGEN

(Mrs.) Maria Bergen, 60, of Saskatoon, Sask. passed away on October 26 after several months of severe illness. She was born in Russia on June 5, 1907, to Mr. and Mrs. Johann Rahn and there received her education and also came to accept Jesus Christ as personal Saviour.

At the age of 22 she moved to Canada with her parents and settled in the Riverhurst, Sask. area. In 1935 she was united in marriage to Isaac Bergen of Glenbush, Sask., a widower with four children. God blessed their marriage with five more children.

During their years in Glenbush, the Bergens were ordained to the diaconate, a ministry that they continued in the West Portal Church after moving to Saskatoon in 1960.

Mrs. Bergen is survived by her husband, Isaac; five sons, David and wife Lorraine of Hepburn, Henry and wife Justina, John and wife Maurina, Isaac and wife Shirley, Benjamin and wife Dorothy; and four daughters, Annie and husband Jacob Boldt, Lena and husband David Friesen, Kay and husband Marvin Quiring, and Agatha and husband Ralph Dyck. She is also survived by her mother and two brothers and two sisters.
