Birth date: 1921

text of obituary:

. . .

— A head-on collision on Highway 81 a short distance north of Newton Thursday afternoon of last week claimed the lives of Mrs. James K. McKie, Jr., 30, of Wichita and little Randall Guy Jantzen, seven week old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jantzen of Burns. Mrs. McKie, driving alone, turned out to pass a tractor driven by Dean Koppes and struck the Jantzen car carrying Mr. and Mrs. Jantzen, their four children, and Margaret and Rebecca Koehn, cousins of Mrs. Jantzen. Still confined to the Axtell hospital with fractures and other injuries are Mr. and Mrs. Jantzen and Rebecca Koehn, and in the Bethel Deaconess hospital are Margaret Koehn, Bryon 3, Delano Gene 2, and Rita Jantzen, twin sister of the dead child, who passed away about four hours after the accident. Mrs. McKie died Friday night at Bethel hospital without regaining consciousness.
