— Funeral services for Grandmother J. J. Duerksen, who was 85 years old, were held at the Alexanderwohl church Sunday afternoon, Dec. 26. Mrs. Duerksen had been living in the Old People’s Home at Goessel, where she suffered a stroke on Dec. 20. She was taken to the Bethesda Hospital and died there at 5:15 p. m. on Dec. 21. The services at the church were conducted by Rev. P. A. Wedel. Seven children and their families survive. Just one day before the death of Grandmother Duerksen, her 70 year old son-in-law D. H. Harms died at Bessie, Okla., after a long illness. Funeral services were held at the Harold Mennonite church there on Dec. 23. His deeply bereaved wife and family survive. A large number of relatives from here drove to Bessie to attend the funeral.
