GERHARD JOHANN KLASSEN

Our dear father and husband Gerhard Klassen was born on May 25, 1903 in Southern Russia and emigrated from the village Barwenkowo to Manitoba, Canada.

He accepted Christ as his Saviour art the age of 13 and was baptized in 1917. His marriage to Helena Froese took place in Manitou, Manitoba in March, 1930. For the last 18 years they lived on a farm in North Kildonan.

He was a member of the North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church. As an earnest follower of his Lord he was concerned about his witness to the world: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father, which is in heaven" Matthew 5:16. We will miss his spiritual attitudes and admonitions.

God called him very suddenly through a heart attack in his home on December 28, 1965, at the age of 62.

He is survived by his wife, one son, John, one daughter, Sarah, three grandchildren, three brothers and six sisters.

His sorrowing family takes comfort from Romans 8:28 "We know that all things work together for good to them that love God.
