CZECHOSLOVAKIA MOURNS OVER MASARYK DEATH

NEW SORROW came to Czechoslovakia last week when Jan Masaryk, the country’s foreign minister, was found dead on the pavement after having leaped or fallen out of his office window. Some reports said it was suicide. Others labeled it murder.

Officials estimated 200,000 people passed by to view the prime [sic foreign] minister’s body on Friday and previous to his funeral on Saturday. Masaryk was the son of the nation’s first president.

At Lake Success, N. Y. Czechoslovakia’s chief delegate to the United Nations demanded the security council investigate the Russian-backed Communist coup in his “terrorized” homeland.
