text of obituary:

JACOB BAERG

Jacob Baerg, born to John and Anna Baerg on January 1, 1878, was a child of less than two years when his parents emigrated from Russia to America. He grew up in Nebraska and there accepted Christ as his Saviour and was baptized and accepted into the Mennonite Brethren Church.

In 1901 his parents moved up to Canada and homesteaded at Mennon, Sask. Here he was married to Anna Voth of Dalmeny in 1904. God permitted the couple to enjoy 61 years of happy marriage and blessed their union, with six daughters and two sons. Jacob Baerg was blessed with health and strength and served energetically in the community and the church. He served with joy, as usher in the Dalmeny Church for many years.

He retired from active farm life in 1947 and moved to Dalmeny. In November, 1965, he was hospitalized for the first time in his life and on December 27 went to be with the Lord. In between he was able to enjoy a last Christmas at home with his family. He looked forward to his heavenly home with longing.

He is survived, by his wife Anna; six daughters, Mrs. John (Anna) Leppof Langham, Mrs. Jacob (Tina) Lepp of Dalmeny, Mrs. Henry (Sarah) Wall of Mennon, Mrs. Albert (Elizabeth) Loewen of Dalmeny, and Nettie and Martha of Dalmeny; two sons, Jacob of Saskatoon and Henry of Mennon; their husbands and wives; 33 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Interment took place in the Saskatoon Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
