MATHILDE SAWATZKY

The passing of (Mrs.) Mathilde Emile Sawatzky, nee Buchholz, occurred in Saskatoon's St. Paul's Hospital June 28. She becamc3 sick in early January and never again fully recoverpd. She was born in Poland in September 5, 1895 and reached an age of 69 years. In 1915 she emigrated to Russia with her parents and there married Henry J. Sawatzky of Grigorjewka. The Lord blessed the couple with three sons and one daughter. After emigrating to Canada she accepted Christ as personal Saviour at the age of 32 years and was accepted into the Dalmeny Mennonite Brethren Church. Later when the family moved to Saskatoon she joined the church there.

The funcral took place in the Ave. C and 33rd Street Church, Saskatoon, with Rev. Eugene Gerbrandt in charge. He spoke on passages of Scripture found in John 14 and 2 Corinthians 5. Some of Mrs. Sawatzky's favourite songs were sung including, "All that I have, I have from thee..." She leaves to mourn, her husband, Henry; three sons, Oscar and wife Helen of Dalnwny, Rudy and wife Betty of Kindersley, Paul and wife Alice of Borden; and a daughter Elsie and husband Bill Rans of Saskatoon.
