JOHN C. BAERG

John Cornelius Baerg was born June 18, 1911, the son of Cornelius and Elizabeth Baerg of Mare, Crimea, South Russia. With his parents he emigrated to Canada in 1925, living first in Saskatchewan and later for several years at Crowfoot, Alberta. In 1938 he moved again with his parents to Vineland, Ontario where he had remained since. In 1942 he was joined in marriage to Anne Andres. Together with his wife he moved onto a farm near Vineland which he operated while carrying a job at Vineland Feed and Supply.

He had accepted Christ as personal Saviour in 1935 and was baptized and received into the Mennonite Brethren Church. In fall of 1964 he was found to have a malignant growth which despite temporary appearance of improvement resulted in his death May 17. The Lord took him home one day after his 23rd wedding anniversary. He died trusting his Lord and Saviour for salvation and eternal life. Mourning has passing are his wife, Anne; his children, (Mrs.) Elsie Rempel, Hilda, Rudy, Erma and Dorothy; a son-in-law, Ray; and one grandchild. He is also survived by two brothers and a sister. The funeral was in the Vineland MB Church with Rev. John M. Schmidt and Rev. H. P. Wiebe ministering.
