Relatives in Newton received word last Friday of the passing of J. B. Wiebe in a Syracuse, Kansas, hospital as a result of injuries sustained in highway crash near Johnson, Kansas, on Aug. 25. Instantly killed in the accident were Mrs. Wiebe and Leon Balzer, 20-year-old grandson of the Wiebes.

The Wiebes and their grandson were en route to Oregon when the tragedy occurred, their car colliding with a truck. The grandson had been working in the harvest in Texas and they planned to attend the wedding of his sister, Bernice, on Sept. 5.
