— John D. Wiens, well known Newton contractor and builder, died at a heart attack early Tuesday morning a short time after being admitted to the Bethel Deaconess hospital. Funeral Services have been announced for Thursday afternoon at the First Mennonite church, Rev. D. J. Unruh in charge, assisted by Rev. J. E. Entz. Mr. Wiens, who was 57 years of age, had built several churches in this locality, as well as other large buildings and many houses. He is survived by his wife, the former Frieda Janzen, a daughter, Mrs. Dale Bachman of Route 1; one son, John C. Wiens of Newton; two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. A. D. Unruh of Hutchinson; and two brothers, Edward R. Wiens and William P. Wiens, both of Newton.
