Birth date: 1905

text of obituary:

. . .

— Harold J. Becker, an employee of the Stauffer Construction company who came to Newton only a few weeks ago, passed away at the Bethel Deaconess hospital Saturday morning after suffering critical burns Friday at the home of his uncle, John Becker, 116 East 14th Street. It is believed a rubber hose connection permitted gas to escape into the bathroom, and when Mr. Becker attempted to light the stove, there was an explosion. He was wearing pajamas, which were set on fire. The body was sent to Norristown, Pa. for funeral services and burial. He was a member of the Lutheran church, and was about 45 years of age.
