ABRAHAM A SCHMIDT

Abraham A. Schmidt was born in Odessa, South Russia, on March 27, 1860. As a young man he was baptized upon confession of faith in his Saviour Jesus Christ on Dec. 4, 1881, and was received into the membership of the Alexanderwohl church, of which he remained a faithful member until the end.

He was united in marriage to Marie Buller on March 19, 1885, by Rev. Henry Banman. This union was however severed when death took his beloved wife on Dec. 24, 1929. To this union were born eight children, the eldest of whom passed away in infancy.

Those remaining to mourn his passing are Jacob B. Schmidt of Canton, Henry B. Schmidt of Hugoton, Abraham Burton Schmidt of Bucklin, Edward Schmidt of Canton, Mrs. Carl Westergard of Newton, Mrs. Nettie Hackler and Mrs. E. K. Loewen of Canton. Also 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren remain to mourn his death.
