PETER D. JANZEN

Rev. Peter D. Janzen of Watrous. Sask., passed away March 11 after ten months of illness in the Rosthern Invalid Home. Bro. Janzen was born on May 6, 1879, in Friedensruh, Russia. He was baptized in 1901 and ordained in 1905, serving the Alexanderkrone Mennonite church for twenty years. He then joined the Alliance church and continued serving. He was married in 1903 to Katherine Wiebe. Six children were born to them. They came to Canada in l926 and farmed in the Watrous area. When the Philadelphia M. B. Church was formed there, he was minister and leader for several years. He was predeceased by his wife in Dec., 1960. He leaves four children, 17 grand-children and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services took place in Watrous on March 15.
