Henry Funk, 68

Henry Funk passed away at his home in Chilliwack on February 13. He was born in Alexandertal, Molotschna, S. Russia, on Feb. 10, 1894. He was baptized and accepted into the M. B. Church after W. W. 1. He married Eliz. Duerksen on July 4, 1922. God blessed them with 6 children, Henry, Frieda, Edward, twins Otto and Walter, and Peter. The family immigrated to Canada in 1925, farmed at Arnaud, Man., for 17 years and moved to B.C. in 1944. In 1952 Bro. Funk suffered his first heart attack. A second attack in 1959 caused him to retire from the farm. On Feb. 11, amid children and grandchildren and relatives, he celebrated his 68th birthday. The evening of Feb. 12 he read the last chapter of Revelation. We prayed and retired. At 2 o'clock he answered the call, "Yes, Lord, come." He leaves a sorrowing wife, 4 sons with families, one daughter with family and 18 grandchildren.
