Fire Takes Lives of Three Children

Greenwich, Va. — A deep tragedy saddened this community recently when the Roy Miller barn caught fire and with it three of the Miller children, — Francis 7, Betty Jean 4, and Mary Ann 3 — were burned to death.

The tragedy happened on Friday, March 22. Cause of the fire is apparently unknown.

Mr. Miller, father of the three, who was working in a nearby field, hurried home when he saw a cloud of smoke coming out of the barn. He arrived too late, however, to save the lives of the children. Besides the grief-stricken parents, three other children survive.

The fuenal was largely attended by friends and relatives from various parts of the community.

It is only a few yers ago that the home in which Mr. and mrs. miller lived was destroyed by fire.
