— Alexander H. Cornies, who came to this country from South Russia in 1921, died at the Bethel Deaconess hospital Tuesday morning at the age of 54 after being under treatment at the hospital for a heart ailment since Feb. 17. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at the home, 430 Southeast Eighth, and at the First Mennonite church. Mr. Cornies, who was a floor sander by trade, leaves his wife, Frieda; a son, Elman, of the home; one sister, Mrs. A. Klassen of Bradner, B. C. and one brother, W. H. Cornies of St. Davids, Ont.
