WELL KNOWN BANKER AT WAYLAND, IOWA PASSED AWAY

Wayland, Iowa. — This community paid final respects to Melvin G. Roth, 53, cashier of the Wayland State Bank for many years, at funeral services held at the Wayland Mennonite church on Monday, Aug. 29. The pastor, Rev. E. S. Mullett, and C. L. Graber of Goshen, Ind. officiated.

Mr. Roth, who was born here, spent 30 years in the banking profession, most of that time in the home community. He was widely known and respected in his profession and was a leader in church and community activities. He had been in failing health for three months, but the immediate cause of death was pneumonia.
