John P. Franz

INMAN—John P. Franz, 93, died May 27, 1990, at McPherson Hospital.

He was born March 2, 1897, in McPherson County, the son of Cornelius and Anna Balzer Franz. A lifetime McPherson County resident, he was a retired farmer and former McPherson County Commissioner.

He was a member of Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church, Inman.

On April 8, 1920, he married Sara E. Voth in McPherson County. She died September 2, 1981. He then married Alma Bretches on November 26, 1981, in McPherson County. She survives.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Cornelia Juhnke, Elyria; a brother, Henry E., Buhler; half-brother, Elmer R., Inman; a sister, Sarah Lohrentz, Inman; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was at 10 a. m. Wednesday, May 30, at Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church, Inman, with the Rev. Richard Ratzlaff presiding. Burial was in the church cemetery, with Buhler Mortuary in charge.

Memorials may go to the church in care of the mortuary.
